Marathon Training – Week 5 #roadtoberlinmarathon

Hello All!

Week 5 just ended for me and I feel super accomplished! With 3 very successful weeks, I am on a roll!

Day 1: Rest Day! Slept until my body told me to wake up. I dropped my mom off to work, vacuumed my car, went to starbucks, went grocery shopping, meal prepped, work prepped and video chatted with my S.O. What a productive rest day it was!

Day 2: I prepared my mind for this morning run, 5 miles, to be exact. I got to the park and “tried” to keep a steady pace. It’s really hard to be at one pace but I am getting there. I’m still running 11 – 12 mins per mile.

Day 3: Rest Day! Of course spent the whole day at work

Day 4: 4 Miles: I don’t quite recall how this actually went but I bet it was a good one! Lol

Day 5: Couldn’t sleep the day before. I contemplated doing the 2nd 5 mile easy run of the week in the afternoon. My alarm went off at 4:45 AM (yikes, that’s not happening) and then again at 5:00 AM, contemplated so hard around this time but decided that I am pretty wide awake anyways, I’ll just drink some coffee and have a snack! I haven’t been drinking coffee before my 6am runs so this was the first! I thought, “instead of 5, I’ll just do 4 today, sleep better tonight and run my 5 miles tomorrow.” (Yes, you can do that! You can switch off the days as long as you do the runs!) So I did my regular 4 mile route but as I was running I think the coffee was starting to kick in and ended up running the 5 miles that was scheduled!! Coffee saved the day! I really like to emphasized on this day because I really thought I couldn’t do it. I managed to run the last mile the fastest that day. It was a good feeling. I felt really accomplished and proud of myself.

Day 6: I couldn’t sleep right away again, although, I did sleep a little bit earlier than the previous day. I got to the park a little bit later than usual. I didn’t drink any coffee because I did not feel as tired waking up. I ran the 4 miles and got done with a couple of minutes before needing to get ready for work! What an amazing accomplishment it was! I did some stretches and some foam rolling.

Day 7: Last Day of Week 5, 6 Miles in the book! I planned to run later than usual (it’s the weekend after all) but my body woke up at 5:30 AM and I was able to start my run at 6am! I was surprised to not see many runners (It’s not a holiday weekend, yet!) I thought this run was gonna be slower than usual because it is much longer than what I’ve been running but I kept a steady pace!

Week 5 was a success! Week 6 on the schedule looks a little scary! Wish me luck!

Aligning with Life…

A few years ago, I stumbled upon a page on instagram, Warrior Training Goddess. I believe the page found me or the universe was slightly directing me to this page. There was a lot of positive quotes and encouragement present in that instagram page that ultimately led me to purchasing the book, Warrior Goddess Training by Heatherash Amara. I’ve had the book for a while but I waited to read it. Now, while reading this book, I asked the question, What does it mean to be aligned with life?

To answer this for myself, I started with the quote below (that I gathered from the book itself):

“Aligning with life means committing to our intent, or goals, 100 percent as well as surrendering to the outcome, whatever it may be.”

In my own understanding,

Aligning with life means giving it your all, in whatever it may be: intent, goals, dreams. & then being able to accept whatever the outcome is, good or bad.

It’s not regretting the hard work you put into achieving your dreams.

It’s not regretting the time spent working on your goals.

It’s not regretting all the things you had to give up or sacrifice to focus on your dreams.

It’s not regretting all the struggles that you could have avoided if it wasn’t for that goal.

Even when the results of you giving it your all doesn’t meet your expectations.

Even when things don’t go as planned.

Even when things go wrong.

You accept whatever it is for what it is and live life with no regrets.

Aligning with life is finding ways to be happy with whatever the results are.

It’s finding the silver lining of things.

It’s finding the blessings from all of the shortcomings of life. (or not even thinking of the shortcomings)

It’s trusting that life is beautiful no matter what, where, who, how it may be.

In the book, Heatherash Amara also mentions that “Life is neither fair nor unfair. Life is a force that constantly moves and changes.” There is a struggle within myself upon reading this that I can’t quite completely comprehend. It’s as if I’ve been living life thinking I’m important that the world revolves around me but obviously it doesn’t. I believe many of us feel this way. We say things like “life is unfair” without realizing that life/world don’t single out things. It just happens that way. It just happened that you’re in this spot today. You’re in this space right now. There is no right or wrong life. Life is just that, it just is. It will keep on moving even if you stop, even when you’re gone, life will just keep on going.

The important thing you can do in life is to live life to the fullest. To enjoy each moment, moment by moment and to appreciate what it is that you have. It is to see the world for the beauty and magical thing that it is.

This kind of revelation, growth and development takes time. It is said in many books, not just this one, that it will take time and that the only thing that matters is that you keep on moving forward. One of the main things, I’ve read, heard and learned about creating a better life for yourself is that it takes time and dedication. So give yourself some time. Give yourself some credit and also give yourself a break when things are tough! Don’t put so much pressure on yourself.

I feel like I write these blogs to remind myself of what I’m learning each day. I’m writing and posting to give myself a break, to give myself some encouragement and to give myself something to look back to when things are tough!

I am a working progress and my goal is to live life to the fullest, however, it may come!

Thanks for reading my thoughts for the day!

Yours Truly Yours,

Piawia!

How Can I Keep Writing?

{lol} This is an actual question, Because I don’t know how to start writing again.

I lost track of myself. In the beginning of the year, I set out to write something every single day and then I stopped. All of a sudden, I stop writing materials that felt good and ’til this day I don’t know what to write but I feel like I need to. I want to be able to reach people and be an inspiration but How Do I Do THAT if I don’t feel fully inspired to do so?

It’s not like my life has completely changed. It’s just that I feel as though my fear of failure to do this is making me doubt everything. Or I don’t feel as though I am inspiring or motivating to people.

And Then,

I just watched a video about becoming an inspiration. It was a video with Eric Feng, an influencer.  He had an epiphany when one of his mentors told him that social media is not about shining the light on himself but shining the light on others. You don’t become an influencer by  just doing things you think people would like but by showing people you care! and it hit me, I have been doing this thing all wrong too.

I was worried about not becoming legit, not being real, not being liked that I forgot that the purpose of this page was to inspire others to get out there and live their lives. The purpose of this page was to inspire others to find themselves and to learn how to love themselves more deeply and more unconditionally. This page was created to teach people how to forgive themselves, believe in themselves and generally learn to be who they truly are.

I am a believer of manifesting greatness in your life by first finding your true self and you can only do that when you learn to love yourself unconditionally.

I am not in that state 100 percent and there is a chance that I will always doubt myself and there is a chance that I will forget why I created this page in the first place but I trust that I am surrounded by amazing people who will keep me on track. I trust that the Universe will always show me the way because JUST LIKE YOU, I know that I am here for a greater purpose and maybe for me, it’s writing to you, being my true self just so you can be inspired to be brave and finally be who you are. Maybe that’s what will keep me going. Maybe that’s what will keep you going.

Nevertheless, I will keep on writing.

I will keep on posting things in my life that ultimately show you how to love yourself. Maybe one day, You Will Be The One to remind ME of what this page is all about!

After all, We Are All In This Together, as per that song that my friends don’t like from our working at Kohls days! lol

Well! Thank you for reading this random thought!

Positive Vibes Wednesday – 4.17.2019

I’d like to start your Wednesday with some positivism! I intend to post more positive things each week or so!

So, here is a lovely poem, empowering women to see themselves as the wonderful phenomenal women that we are!

Phenomenal Woman

by Maya Angelou

Pretty women wonder where my secret lies.
I’m not cute or built to suit a fashion model’s size
But when I start to tell them,
They think I’m telling lies.
I say,
It’s in the reach of my arms,
The span of my hips,
The stride of my step,
The curl of my lips.
I’m a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.
I walk into a room
Just as cool as you please,
And to a man,
The fellows stand or
Fall down on their knees.
Then they swarm around me,
A hive of honey bees.
I say,
It’s the fire in my eyes,
And the flash of my teeth,
The swing in my waist,
And the joy in my feet.
I’m a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.
Men themselves have wondered
What they see in me.
They try so much
But they can’t touch
My inner mystery.
When I try to show them,
They say they still can’t see.
I say,
It’s in the arch of my back,
The sun of my smile,
The ride of my breasts,
The grace of my style.
I’m a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.
Now you understand
Just why my head’s not bowed.
I don’t shout or jump about
Or have to talk real loud.
When you see me passing,
It ought to make you proud.
I say,
It’s in the click of my heels,
The bend of my hair,
the palm of my hand,
The need for my care.
’Cause I’m a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.

What a wonderful day it is to be a woman! Yesterday, on my way home from work, I was listening to Oprah’s Super Soul Podcast and I ran into this one with her reading Maya Angelou’s poem. In her podcast, she reminds us to be ourselves. She reminds us that our sole goal in life is to be the best selves we can ever be! It’s funny because the chapter in the book I was reading (Girl Stop Apologizing by Rachel Hollis) said the same thing! What a coincidence?! Both Oprah’s podcast and Rachel’s book remind us that our job, especially as women, is to be ourselves, to stop asking for permission to be ourselves, to be true to ourselves. The people who are truly meant to stay and matter in our lives will love us despite them not understanding, despite them not agreeing. Even if you change, the people who truly matter should be the people who will love you for exactly who you are!

So this is my positive vibes Wednesday! I hope you get inspired and motivated today to be who you truly are. Just be yourself! Be the bravey you want to see in the world!

Happy Happy Wednesday! ‘Til Next Time!

Yours Truly Yours,

Piawia!
